Stop 1: Chilpik Kala – The Tower of Silence
Our first destination is Chilpik Kala, a dramatic circular fortress perched above the Amudarya River. Once used by Zoroastrians for sky burials, it offers not only a fascinating story but also sweeping views of the desert landscape.
Stop 2: Nukus Art Museum
Next, we arrive in Nukus at the world-renowned Savitsky Art Museum, famous for its extraordinary collection of banned avant-garde Soviet art. Spend about 1–2 hours discovering bold, colorful works rescued by Igor Savitsky.
🍴 Afterward, enjoy lunch in Nukus — from cozy cafés like Cinnamon to local favorites such as Karakalpagim for traditional dishes.
Stop 3: Mizdakhan Necropolis
A short drive takes us to the mysterious Mizdakhan Necropolis, a vast archaeological site spread across three hills. Dating back to the 4th century BCE and later flourishing in medieval times, the complex includes ancient tombs, ruins of a citadel, and legends whispered by Persian and Arab historians.
